He leído con agrado y avidez la nota de Ariel Torres sobre el MSE ( www.lanacion.com.ar/nota.asp?nota_id=1181208 ).
Trabajo en seguridad informática desde 2006 y soporte técnico entre 1997 y 2005, más los años de facultad como analista de sistemas.
La verdad es que luego de los fiascos como Antigen , OneCare , Defender, y sobre todo con la pobreza de ForeFront , sumado esto a la compra compulsiva e indiscriminada de empresas pequeñas y medianas, no queda mucho por comentar respecto del MSE (más allá de la gratuidad que publicitan).
Soy un defensor de los sanos conflictos de intereses en cuestiones de seguridad. Si Microsoft lidera el segmento de sistemas operativos, no me gusta que intente cooptar otros ámbitos. Suficiente con que Oracle haya fagocitado a Sun e IBM se haya desprendido de la fabricación de PC, notebooks y demás; por citar ejemplos de situaciones opuestas. Zapatero a tus zapatos debería ser el lema para el gigante de Redmond.
En el ámbito hogareño soy usuario de Avast!, ¡hace casi diez años! y es encomiable el trabajo que ha llevado adelante la gente de Alwil.

Celulares para Outlook
Estimados asesores:
Permítanme llamarlos así ya que desde hace varios años los sigo con sumo interés.
El tema que me ocupa es el siguiente: uso el Outlook . En las citas y en los contactos, adjunto archivos (de Excel , Word , y otros).
Sincronizo el Outlook de la computadora de mi casa con la de mi oficina, a través de un servidor Exchange de una empresa .
Quisiera saber si existe un celular que me permita sincronizar el Outlook con las citas y contactos más los archivos adjuntos.
O algún servicio que me permita sincronizar las dos computadoras con el celular.

Prácticamente cualquier smartphone de alta gama permite hacer lo que el lector desea. Sólo hay que asegurarse de que ofrezca ActiveSync . Una breve lista de modelos capaces de sincronizarse con servidores Exchange son los Nokia de las series N y E, los teléfonos con Windows Mobile, el iPhone y el Blackberry, entre otros.
Pelusa mata disipador

Felicitaciones por el contenido del suplemento; le estoy agradecido por las dudas que me ha despejado durante años.
Ahora el mangazo: los procesadores Intel (creo que los 775) traen un disipador muy bonito, en forma de espiras concéntricas y que se abren como si fueran ramas.
Son lindos, ahora ¿cómo se hace para que la pelusa no obstruya el radiador ? ¿Seré el único a quien le ocurre? ¿En Intel no se dieron cuenta de que la belleza del disipador no le da salida a la basura que circula en el aire? ¿No era mejor el viejo diseño con salida hacia dos lados?.
Repito: ¿hay alguna manera de que no se obstruya el disipador con pelusa?

La única solución es utilizar un gabinete que tenga filtros en las ranuras por donde el equipo toma el aire. Es virtualmente imposible mantener libre de pelusa las zonas de las turbinas y disipadores, ya que la PC en este punto funciona como una aspiradora. Con todo, la acumulación de suciedad suele ser lo bastante lenta como para que una limpieza semestral alcance para mantener la salud del equipo.
Dicho sea de paso, es muy importante que los radiadores y las turbinas se mantengan libres de suciedad, para que cumplan correctamente con su función.

Este mail es para la siguiente consulta: una amiga diseñadora gráfica había adquirido una PC con disco SATA de 160 GB Western Digital; a mitad del año pasado, de un día para otro, dejó de funcionar y, así, no pudiendo acceder a la información que tenía, cuando conecto un portadisco que tengo por medio del USB en otra PC lo reconoce como dispositivo USB en la parte inferior derecha de la pantalla, pero cuando voy a mi PC no aparece otra unidad. ¿Hay software que pueda acceder al SATA, hacerle un formato a bajo nivel, revivirlo, y así poder recuperar la información guardada en el disco?

Si se hace un formato de la unidad con estos programas, sin embargo, será mucho más difícil luego recuperar la información perdida.
