No ano passado, a Nintendo anunciou planos de distribuio de v磭deo em seu console mais famoso, o Wii. Com a crise e a popularizao da compra de servi磧os online, a empresa parece ainda mais inclinada a aproveitar essa moda, e disse que vai lançar o serviço agora no dia 1º de maio, inicialmente no Japão.
O serviço se chamará Wii no Ma Channel, uma mistura de japonês e inglês que pode ser traduzido aproximadamente como “canal do espaço do Wii”. O canal é o resultado de uma parceria entre a gigante do entretenimento e a agência de publicidade Dentsu, e também trará suporte ao Nintendo DSi, mais novo produto da empresa, sucessor do console portátil Nintendo DS Lite que teve enorme sucesso de vendas no mundo todo, noticiou o site Übergizmo .
Inicialmente, os planos da Nintendo eram de vender conteúdo exclusivo e próprio ao invés de redistribuir programas de televisão e filmes já existentes, mas não está claro qual o enfoque a ser realmente adotado. Ao acessar o Wii no Ma Channel, o usuário será levado a uma sala de estar com ambiente familiar onde os Miis (avatares do console) poderão interagir. Segundo o site Digital Trends , o conteúdo distribuído terá versões pagas e gratuitas, mas nada a respeito de títulos foi informado ainda.
Para funcionar no Nintendo DSi, o serviço contará com o aplicativo “Dokodemo Wii no Ma” (em traduo livre, “Wii no Ma em qualquer lugar”) que permitira o download de v磭deos para serem assistidos no pequeno console. Cupons de desconto em estabelecimentos japoneses também poderão ser baixados e posteriormente escaneados diretamente da tela para serem utilizados.
O console Nintendo Wii já oferece serviços variados como previsão do tempo, navegao pela internet, envio de emails, compra de jogos online, reprodu磧ão de fotos e vídeos através de cartão SD, streaming de vídeos curtos sobre jogos e tutoriais, entre outros. A Nintendo não comentou nada sobre o lançamento do serviço em locais fora do Japão.
